Local History Day 2008 and Book Launch

Our Local History Day and Book Launch for 2008 saw our book, "The Employees and Residents of Thornley, Ludworth and Wheatley Hill - Their Contribution to the Second World War", go on sale. It is a publication of 260 pages packed with information, most of it which has never appeared in the public domain before.

The launch speech was given by Mr Phil Wilson MP, seen in the above photograph with our three researchers, Fred Bromilow, Owen Rowland and Tom Tunney.

The challenge for the day was to "Dress up if you Dare" and Emma and husband Ian did just that. Emma was so authentic she won the prize of the best 1950's outfit.
